In the small niche of light polyethylene foam, most production is adapted to existing machines rather than optimizing machines for the process. AB-Tec and its sister company Spunfab are German and American manufacturers of roll-form heat-activatable dry, breathable, flexible and solvent-free thermoplastic web adhesives. Both companies are committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility, achieving to reduce their carbon footprint. For example, AB-Tec offers various biobased CoPA and CoPES types of web adhesives based on sustainable farmed feedstock polymers (not for feed or food) with a raw material content up to over 90%. TPU based web adhesives are already in development.
